Prior to 2018 I had created a lot of artwork, very little of it I enjoyed making or liked the end result of. I decided to pick a very simple theme - the mouth, and create some drawings in a horror style based on this. This is where I decided to make horror my main genre, and the drawings were inspiring to make.

The process of drawing allowed me to get out many ideas more quickly than if I tried to go straight into a painting. Not all of the drawings are shown here, and only a few were picked to become watercolour paintings.

The torso ends in a large mouth with more hands coming from behind the torso and into the mouth. There is an art nouveau inspired frame and negative space which also flows into the mouth.
